Why Choose Sunshine Pediatrics? Quality . Dr. Maiya Clark is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has experience in diverse clinical settings. Availability . The office is open 5 days a week from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Nursing advice is available through your insurance provider and for urgent matters, Dr. Clark can be reached by phone after hours. We take same day sick appointments and well visits can be scheduled within 1-2 weeks. State of the Art Care . We have implemented an Electronic Medical Record System that makes patient information more accessible, private and unlikely to be lost. We also do many in-house labs for your convenience. Complete Care . Sunshine Pediatrics believes that the best care is given when there is an on-going relationship between the doctor and family. We care about the emotional and physical needs of our young patients and their families. Preventative Care . At each well visit we will discuss not only physical health and development but issues of safety, nutrition, learning, family and social problems. When necessary, we will coordinate care between the doctor and specialists such as school nurses, teachers, psychologists and other ancillary providers to address the particular issue at hand. Conservative Antibiotic Use . Dr. Clark believes in the rational use of antibiotics. There are many risks associated with their over-use and therefore they will not be prescribed when they are not needed and may be potentially harmful.
